The goal of the project is to develop, evaluate and demonstrate an innovative and reliable sample
preparation of whole blood system for advanced diagnostic cartridges. The whole blood diagnostic
project will fill the technological gap between the getting the sample from the patient and the optical
detection of a specific marker in the blood. In essence, this approach consists of several measures to be
integrated into one easy-to-handle system, i.e. efficient sample uptake, blood plasma generation, release
of marker specific detection reagents and transfer of blood plasma & reagent mixture to the optical
detection area for subsequent quantitative evaluation.
