Feasibility Study for CFRP-Drilling. Orthogonal Cutting and Machining Experiments with state of the art tools: Estimation of feasibility for basic and applied research, estimation of developing potential
Abstract
(Deutsch)
Today¿s machining processes are not yet fully adapted to machining CFRP. Within the sighted study three different aspects will be clarified to ensure the feasibility and success of a project to optimise the process of preparing riveted joints: 1. Analysing instruments and processes capable for generating meaningful results 2. Basic research conducted for the example of the orthogonal cut allowing the acquisition of process knowledge 3. Applied research with state of the art tools to determine important characteristics of tools and coatings as well as important fields of process optimisation.
