A new method to naturally decaffeinate tea

Abstract (Deutsch)

Project goal: Development of an alternative process to extract caffeine from tea that can be labelled as natural; that avoids the methylene chloride that is used as extraction solvent in the current process; that is not based on supercritical CO2 extraction; that leads to an excellent sensory quality, comparable to the current quality of decaffeinated tea; and that is compatible with the production infrastructure of Infré SA, Semsales, FR.
