Ultra Flexible Lithium Film Batteries
Abstract
(English)
Advances in printed electronics and thin semiconductor devices open new opportunities for thin, light-weight and above all flexible electronics. Future mass market items such as smartcards with advanced functionalities, thin portable health monitoring devices, smart textiles and flexible electronic devices, will all require a miniaturized power source able to withstand extreme mechanical constraints. Furthermore the power source must be cheap, long lasting and with a high energy density. This project aims at developing primary and secondary lithium film batteries for small devices that are much more flexible than those currently available, by using novel encapsulation strategies and new composite materials.
