AIRTEER: new electrode systems for the measurement of transepithelial electrical resistance on models of the human airway epithelium
Abstract
(Englisch)
In vitro models of the airways are used to study the effects of drugs or toxins. Models at the air/liquid interface are particularly powerful. However, the need to submerge them in liquid for electrical (TEER) measurements greatly reduces their relevance. In this study, different experimental approaches to TEER measurements at the air-liquid interface will be tested. This will allow analysis of the effects of air-borne pollutants and pharmaceuticals in vitro. The most suitable experimental approach will be further developed in a future project.
