Abstract
(English)
This abstract outlines a research plan aimed at the preparation of chiral P-containing anionic counterions and their use in asymmetric chemistry in a broad sense – with an emphasis on catalysis and mechanistic analysis. The project is thus completely in the realm of WPs 2 and 5 of PhoSciNet CM0802; these WPs dealing with (i) (asymmetric) catalysis and (ii) state-of-the-art synthetic, spectroscopic and theoretical methods respectively. In this context, we have studied this year tetracoordinated BINOL-based phosphate anions as ligands for the synthesis and catalytic applications of chiral enantiopure Rh(II) complexes that were used to make novel densely functionalized macrocycles. We have also studied hexacoordinated chiral anions such TRISPHAT and BINPHAT for material science and supramolecular applications, catalysis, resolution of chiral cationic helical moieties, chirality detection and structure / mechanism understanding.
