Abstract (Englisch)

The focus of the project is to increase time efficiency and cost-effectiveness and minimize error occurrences in the development and production of a new patient specific made cutting guide for a revolutionary bone replacement methodology, specifically for knee, hip and ankle surgery. Medacta, a well know orthopedic Swiss company, will develop a new and innovative equipment focused on helping the surgeon in the bone replacement operations. To maintain the competiveness on the medical market time cost must be shortened and risks reduced. To do so, new futures must be developed, as a web based planning tool for the surgeon or an automatic bone structure reconstruction imaging-algorithm
