Semi-automatic robotic system for kerf-free silicon wafer production

Abstract (German)

Silicon wafers are the basis of most solar cells. However, current manufacturing methods waste much of the precious raw material. Enexra has developed a process that can produce up to 8 times more wafers from the same amount of raw material, reducing the costs of silicon solar cells by over 40%. The main goal of this project is to develop a prototype robotic tool that automates Enexra¿s process and demonstrates its capability of producing high-quality wafers in large volumes.
