The goal of this project is the performance enhancement and cost reduction of laser diode gas monitoring systems using an innovative directional micro-optical packaging approach. At present, cumbersome and expensive noise reduction systems prevent the full commercial potential of this outstanding gas detection technology. Innovative solutions for an interference-free, highly collimated & cost-optimized micro-optical assembly will be analyzed and implemented. The achieved results will allow the realization of compact, low manufacturing cost, high-performance spectroscopic gas sensors.
