This project comprises the modulation and demodulation part required to complement the deliverables from the CTI-project 10525.2 PFNM-NM in order to allow the industrial partner to realize his product which is a transceiver for a 1GBit/s optical link. The main deliverable will be a DMT MODEM with 64 subcarriers with adaptive bit-loading which does allow to transmit 1GBit/s over a channel with a bandwidth of less than 80 MHz. Together with the deliverables from the CTI-Project 10525.2 PFNM-NM it will allow the industrial partner to enter into the emerging market of high datarate optical transmission products for consumer applications.
