The objective of this project is to develop a stationary system for pavement monitoring based on acceleration sensors. The function of such a system is to obtain the two dimensional deflection response of an in-service road pavement under the loads of moving vehicles in a continuous way. The collected data can remotely provide indication of problems in the structure. The proposed system is composed by set of accelerometers specially designed for this application and by software for data acquisition and statistical post-processing.
