The objectives of the project are the improvement of current high resolution and high sensitivity optical techniques, and their establishment for sensing technologies and high resolution optical microscopy. These improvements are in terms of spatial resolution and photon sensitivity (single fluorescent particle detection), as well as a more routine way of operation (development of microfabricated sensors as a device/product).
