Venomics project to discover new leads inhibiting Notch signalling for cancer therapy.
Abstract
(French)
Notch is a transmembrane receptor involved in the communication between different cell types playing a key role in cancer development. Our preliminary studies include (i) the development and validation of bioassays to identify molecules interfering with Notch signalling and (ii) the observation that some components found in animal venoms share striking homologies with the Notch extra-cellular domain and its natural ligands. This project aims at screening selected libraries of pre-fractionated venoms to discover novel cancer drug candidates.
