Automatic reading of meters (gas, electricity, water, ...) and transmitting data via a wired or RF link enables a|more accurate monitoring of resource needs. The goal of the project is the development of a battery-powered|automatic meter reader (AMR) module for retrofit applications on existing meters with lower production and|installation cost, higher robustness and longer lifetime than existing devices. For this purpose, a dedicated|integrated circuit incorporating on a single chip a high dynamic range pixel array, a processor and memory|will be developed, which will enable image acquisition and processing on a single chip.
