Next-generation smartcard-based biometric authentication

Abstract (French)

This project intends to bridge the gap between academic research in the area of biometric identity verification and industrial needs in smartcard-based security systems. COVADIS S.A. in collaboration with EPFL plans to commercialise a secure, privacy-preserving biometric identity verification solution for e-government applications, citizen cards, private banks and companies. COVADIS SA possesses in-house competence for hardware and software smartcard¿based systems and EPFL-LIDIAP Speech Processing and Biometrics Group (GTBP) has relevant expertise in biometrics for identity documents.
