FamConnector: Activity Based Intergenerational Interactions

Abstract (Deutsch)

The aim of FamConnector is to develop tools for tele-communication and online activities between adults and young children, especially grand parents and their grand children. The capability of children ages 3-9 to sustain a conversation or remain interested in the conversation of others, is extremely limited. Young children need activities, such as reading a book or playing a game for interaction. Young children and older adults require products that are ageappropriate both in their content and functionality. FamConnector will design an online tool for activities like reading an interactive book, drawing together (and other art activities), playing games or web adventures (quiz that demands co-browsing to find the answers), or discovering family history with online photo albums. The FamConnector project will develop a mature version of an interactive tool that is commercially ready after the project.
