Abstract (French)

Over one million persons require open heart surgery each year with associated costs exceeding $20 billion. Smartcanula LLC develops, produces and sells intelligent, variable geometry cannulas for peripheral applications, which allow for enhanced drainage of blood and much better performance in comparison to the state of the art. Smartcanula LLC plans to expand it existing product lines offering to include not only next generation perpherial access cannulae but also to address the mass market for central access cannulae where cost is much more of an issue.
