Non-ionic surfactants represent valuable additives for paints and coatings. This project aims to create some innovative non-ionic surfactants while still being able to use the core competence of Dr. W Kolb AG, the alkoxylation reaction of precursors. A systematic library of new liquid polyhydroxy polymers will be developed as hydrophobic building blocks. The resulting surfactants will not only enhance Kolb¿s position as a player in the coatings additive market, but will also be probes for the systematic study of their self-assembly into nanoobjects.
