Description succincte
(Anglais)
Following the objectives of the "Flood Action Programme" of the International Commission for the Protec-tion of the River Rhine (ICPR) discussions between responsible forecasting centers of Switzerland (LHG), Germany (BfG) and The Netherlands (RIZA) have led to the joint opinion that the existing forecasting systems for the River Rhine are to be improved and/or extended. In Addition it was considered that im-provements and extensions of an existing Flood Forecasting System done by a specific country might be of interest to other riparian countries as well. Taking the above into account it was decided to arrange a meeting between representatives of LHG, BfG, RIZA, SMHI and WL Delft Hydraulics. This meeting was arranged to obtain an overview of required improvements and extensions of flood forecasting systems presently in use in the river Rhine basin as well as to establish those aspects and areas which are of common interest to the hydrological agencies in Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands.
