Yb-based supercontinuum generation (Yb-SCG)
Abstract
(German)
This project aims to develop a broadly usable, low-cost optical ultrafast engine for applications in biomedical instrumentation, metrology, and R&D. Low-cost ytterbium-based femtosecond lasers combined with fiber supercontinuum generation will allow for flexible broad tunability and short pulse generation. This opens new markets in biomedical instrumentation such as ophthalmology. Scaling the repetition rate into the gigahertz range combined with carrier-envelope phase (CEP) stabilization will open new markets in precision time and frequency standards.
