Functional foods are assuming an important role in the market as an attractive method for maintaining health using products with ingredients of natural origin. Brain health and metabolic health stand to benefit greatly from a function food approach to management and prevention, due to their characteristic slow evolution which leads to gradual organ dysfunction. This project concerns the development of innovative functional foods, backed by solid science, to address the unmet needs in managing metabolic disorders and degenerative conditions of the brain.
