Abstract (Englisch)	The study is aimed at the feasibility at the applicability of advanced anisotropic composites in water turbine blades. The advantages would be adaptability through deformation by load and an improved behavior to Karman induced vibration, by tailoring specific eigen modes and due to the inherent dampening characteristics of the material. Ultimately the different manufacturing approach for composites blades should reveal new benefits in total cost of ownership to the operator.
