Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
The goal of this project is the development of a low noise, low power, 16 channel CMOS pre-amplifier for integration with a giant magnetoresistive and/or tunneling magnetoresistive (GMR/TMR) tape read sensors and a multi channel multiplexer chip for integration with the write transducers of a tape head and to study the resulting improvements with respect to areal density and data rate of tape drives. In addition, we will develop the technology to directly interconnect these chips adjacent to the tape head.
