The goal of the proposed project is to develop an efficient solution for the transcoding of MPEG-2 video streams toMPEG-4 part 2 or H.264/AVC (MPEG-4 part 10) video formats. Special attention will be paid to minimize the resourcesrequired, especially in terms of computation and power consumption, while achieving the best visual quality and userexperience. This project comprises analysis, study, design and evaluation of one or more systems in order to achieve theabove mentioned goal.
