Abstract (English)

Atrial fibrillation is a rhythm disorder or arrhythmia of the heart and one of the most common heart diseases worldwide affecting more than 5 million people in the industrialized world. Population 65 years and older has a 5% to 7% yearly risk to develop AF. AF has significant impact on the quality of life. Patients with AF are often desperate for solutions to alleviate symptoms such as dizziness, shortness of breath, and sleep apnea.
