The project will develop a quantitative imaging methodology (QIM) for morphological analysis of arthritic joints. The QIM will be commercialised for use in preclinical programs of pharmaceutical drug and medical device development. The validated protocols for imaging and analysing bone and cartilage tissues by microCT will provide substantially more quantitative information directly relevant to the development of treatments for arthritis and cartilage defects in a shorter time than is currently possible.
