ChatFree: Part Programming to realize Chatter-Free and Efficient Pocket Milling
Abstract
(Englisch)
The main objectives are the development of a new method and software that will guide part programmers in generating efficient chatter-free pocket part programs. The goal is to reduce by at least 20% the overall machining time of pockets including the part program preparation time in comparison to current practices. The time efficiency objective will be achieved by avoiding chatter vibrations and the corresponding detrimental effects on the tool life and the part surface quality; the avoidance of chatter vibrations will result in improved part quality with longer tool life and as a consequence further machining time reductions due to reductions in unwanted tool changes.
