In order to identify areas where further action is required to address the uncontrolled and destabilizing effects of the proliferation of and illicit trade in small arms and light weapons, the UN Institute for Disarmament Research UNIDIR analyzses the National Reports submitted betewwn 2006 and 2008 by member states on their implemenation of the UNidted Nations Programme of Action on the illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons. This project supports the publication of this analysis in form of a book that will be published at the end of 2008.
