The project is basically a cooperation among four European metrology institutes to push forward metrology for advanced micro-parts using micro coordinate measurement techniques. Within the project, METAS will develop smaller and more complex probing elements and will study fundamental problems with respect to the implementation of a virtual simulation of the measurement process in order to estimate task specific measurement uncertainties. International comparison measurements among the participants will also include new methods such as micro x-ray tomography.
