Development of a high-throughput screening technology to identify ligands and ligand-induced interaction partners of G protein-coupled receptors
Abstract
(English)
Establishing a novel screening technology to identify ligand-receptor interactions and ligand-mediated protein interactions involving G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Applications include the identification of signaling events of activated GPCRs, the characterization of dynamic protein interactions and the identification of ligands for orphan GPCRs or the identification of receptors for a given ligand of interest. Furthermore, the technology enables the identification of pharmacological dugs which interfere with the recruitment of signaling molecules to engaged GPCRs. The screening system will be commercialized as a fee-for-service operation for industrial and academic customers.
