Abstract
(English)
The objective of this project is to achieve and to finalize a technology demonstrator (TD) able to demonstrate the industrial feasibility of an asymmetric modular multilevel converter for a high voltage (>30 kV) and high dynamics (0.5 kV/s max) supply. The main difficulties in this development are : ¿h very demanding specifications for the output voltage dynamics, ¿h use of medium frequency transformers isolated up to 60 kV, ¿h stabilization of the DC link voltages of the modules, ¿h conception of an algorithm for the control of the output voltage, ¿h fast digital communication between the modules. For this project the know-how and expertises of three actors of the industrial and academic world are involved: HEIGVD, EPFL-CRPP and Thomson BM.
