Abstract (English)	The main purpose of this project is to formulate an improved biomass well suited for the development of a biodegradable flip-flop (slipper, open shoe). Flip-flops are a global and growing mass market. Their environmental impact is highly negative and disproportionate to their actual use. Applications which fulfil mass market needs while improving the product environmental life cycle have a strong commercial potential. Current commercially available biopolymers are not adapted to a flip-flop application. The project has short listed an existing bioploymer and defined specific needed improvements. The objective is to realize a flip-flop fulfilling EU composting norms. The biomass is then appliable to other applications (replication).
