TIME addresses the great dangers and large economic damages of counterfeiting and tampering with medical devices and pharmaceutical products: New manufacturing and measurement technology for moldable and embossable plastic products with built-in visible and invisible 3D micro codes will be developed. These codes can be detected reliably with novel hand-held optical coherence tomography readers, and they are tracked through the entire supply chain at virtually no additional cost.
