Abstract (Englisch)	The goal of the project is to develop a prototype of an in-line radioactivity monitor, which measures accuratelyand in real time the radioactive level in blood. Such instruments are accessories for positron emissiontomography (PET) systems, which are now used in all major hospitals and medical research institutes. Theprototype will take advantage of the latest advances in scintillator and detector technology. Particular acompact design will allow its implementation into animal PET scanners, an emerging market, for which noother solution is currently available. CSEM and Swisstrace GmbH have worked together on the developmentof state-of-the-art products for the PET market.
