The development of high power laser diodes combined with a small etendue has strongly progressed over the last few years. In this project innovative solutions for a fiber coupled high power laser modules will be developed based on a multi-chip approach. The achieved results will contribute to the development of compact, low manufacturing cost ,direct diode pumped fiber-coupled laser modules with optical powers beyond 100 W. With this project, the Swiss industry has the opportunity to become a market leader in cost effective fiber coupled high-power laser modules.
