Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
The objective of this project is to use the Computational Microfluidics solver (TransAT-BCHIP) for the simulation of liquid droplets dynamics and control for the design of miniaturized drug-delivery systems and blood diagnostic devices like bio-chips. The immediate goal is twofold: use simulations for a better understanding of microdroplets physics, and implement and validate the analytical models developed during the Action into the code TransAT-BCHIP. The validation of the tool requires a concerted action in the sense of creating a new experimental data basis by other participating nodes, as it is opposed in the MoU. This is only one part of a larger challenge that is to represent the complex, interacting physico-chemical processes of a complete biochip in a system design tool. Our ultimate objective is that Med-Tech & Bio-Tech companies producing bio-chips, bio-diagnostic and biosensor technologies will refer to TransAT-BCHIP for the analysis, design and optimization of their devices for best performance, reduced engineering cost and faster time-to-market. The economical impact for ASCOMP consists in providing the specialized market a tailored industrial microfluidic simulation tool, and thus be rapidly positioned within the best providers of analytical solutions for medical applications devices.
