Abstract

Logitech SA is a world leader in the PC peripheral market. In order to introduce new products in an ever-demanding market, Logitech intends to offer a completely new typing experience on keyboard. It is a haptic keyboard which offers a possibility to the user to choose the feedback force of each key. In order to achieve this goal, in collaboration with LAI/EPFL, a new miniature electromechanical actuator should be designed, with a configurable force in function of the position, speed and acceleration of the key moving part. Due to space constraints, a sensorless operation is a must.
