CFMCW - Coherent Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Absolute Distance Meter
Abstract
(English)
The project CFMCW deals with the development of an absolute distance meter that will be part of a largescale coordinate measurement machine. Main use is for industrial application, such as inspection of manufacturing, tooling and assembly. These applications are characterized by extreme requirements on measurement accuracy ( 100ìm), and measurement range (up to 100m). They ideally operate both on cooperative and non-cooperative targets with measurement rates that are suitable for object scanning. The main risk to make this technology commercially successful is in the telescope, which critically drives measurement sensitivity, accuracy, and measurement speed. In the applied project, we will largely focus on the issues identified in the previous project CTI 8348.2.
