Applications of Nanoparticles to Water Splitting (ANWASP
Abstract
(German)
The efficient and large scale production of hydrogen (or hydrogen and oxygen) from water using renewable energy sources is critical to the development of a ¿hydrogen economy¿. The project concerns the synthesis, scale-up, evaluation and quality control of hybrid polyfunctional nanoparticles with potential application for the photoelectrolytic or photochemical hydrogen production from water. Few efficient large scale processes have been developed for the production of homogeneous functionalised nanoparticles. The industrial and academic partners have complementary expertise in the preparation, functionalisation and characterisation of such systems.
