Vibro-Meter¿s current product line, ¿VM600¿ is based on a centralized architecture. A recent market study hasshown big potential in low to mid size (5 to 50 MW) rotating machinery. Vibro-Meter wants to address thismarket with a distributed measuring system offering similar capability as the centralized system yet withincreased flexibility and improved cost efficiency. In the course of a feasibility study, the characteristics of a network featuring: ¿ High precision synchronization for correlation of sampled data ¿ Transmission of high accuracy tacho signal ¿ Transmission of time critical and safety relevant alarms will be studied and an appropriate network technology determined
