Abstract
(English)
The objective of this case study is to quantify trade creation and trade diversion effects for trade in textiles & clothing with selected countries, i.e. Marocco, Tunisia and Turkey. In addition to tariff protection, the study will take into account the impact of rules of origin (potential for trade deflection). The study will contain detailed figures on the evolution of trade flows (textiles & clothing) between Switzerland / the EU and the above-mentioned countries following the conclusion of free trade agreements. The study will provide a quantitative assessment of the extent to which the EU’s first-mover advantage has translated into a loss of market share for Switzerland and will econometrically analyse the effect of rules of origin (RoOs) on trade in textile & clothing between Switzerland and the above-mentioned countries.
