Abstract
(English)
Pharmaceutical packaging is based on chlorine-containing foils (blisters). Reducing or fully avoiding chlorinated polymers has become a major market driver. We therefore investigate hybrid inorganic/polymer systems for a next generation of functional packaging based on findings from a first CTI project (3 patent applications: ¿no sticking¿ surfaces; extended shelf life for fruits; self-sterilizing sanitary films) with market introduction of a new packaging product at PECO. This project will deliver customer prototypes within three years and is expected to result in a highly competitive product at PECO.
