The project aims at developing a method to test the efficiency of biofilm removal during washing processes inhousehold washing machines. The method comprises: 1) a model biofilm formed with microorganismsusually developing in these systems and attached to a relevant support, 2) a fast detection kit for a user-friendly, qualitative characterization of the efficiency of biofilm removal, 3) a standard laboratory protocolforquantification of biofilm removal by a testing laboratory.
