Abstract (Englisch)	The objective is to develop a system allowing continuous measurement of glucose concentrations for at least 24 hours. The application is diagnostic glucose profiling of diabetic patients, a high and unmet medical need. Measurement is done amperometrically by subcutaneous insertion of a small dimension enzyme-modified electrode. Key functionalities are miniaturization combined with reliable operation, sufficient accuracy, mechanical strength and properties allowing easy mass-production with high reproducibility. The use of such small dimension electrodes with the PharmaSens application device will ensure painless insertion and good performance combined with unique userfriendliness.
