Abstract
(German)
Transparent and conductive electrodes are crucial components in the fabrication of optoelectronic devices such as liquid crystal displays or solar cells. Transparent conducting metal-oxides provide excellent optical and electrical properties, but are becoming more and more expensive due to the scarcity of the constituting metallic elements, in particular indium. With a view to provide a fundamentally different cost efficient alternative, precision fabric made from conductive wires or fibres will be employed to develop an equivalent transparent and conductive electrodes. These electrodes would further benefit from a high flexibility allowing applications on shaped (formed) surfaces. As a proof of concept these electrodes will be applied in the construction of polymer solar cells.
