New Technologies for e-Procurement
Abstract
(English)
Companies have found that conducting procurement negotiations and auctions by electronic means (e-procurement) is an effective tool for increasing the overall efficiency of their supply chain. Current tools are based on price-driven auctions and cannot be applied to all procurement scenarios. We examine the degree to which new generation tools based on combinatorial auctions can improve existing e-procurement scenarios and widen the scope where e-procurement can be applied. This feasibility study will possibly lead to a full project where such tools would be implemented and commercialized.
