There is an increasing demand in the medical market for drug dispensing devices for controlled morphine distribution systems. In developing countries, such devices are particularly well suited for severe chronic pain management. In those regions, high security, ultra low-power consumption, low-cost, small size, ease of use as well as ability to operate in severe environmental conditions are very important. To answer this increasing demand, the objective of this CTI project is to develop an ultra low-power drug dispensing bottle equipped with a fingerprint recognition system and break-in protection mechanism to guarantee a high level of security.
