Abstract
(French)
The goal of this project is to develop an innovative screening and early detection test for breast cancer from blood samples. This test will be based on a biomarker molecular platform of BARD1 isoforms expressed in cancer. Truncated BARD1 isoforms are aberrantly expressed in breast cancer and correlated with poor prognosis and therefore provide ideal biomarkers for breast cancer detection and progression. We have recently identified the molecular structure of these isoforms, and the DNA and respective protein domains, retained in these isoforms, have been patented
