During the development of the new IT system many methodological questions have been raised as to why a certain indicator is calculated in a specific way. There is also considerable doubt that all the mathematical formulas are correct or represent best practice. In order to guarantee (1) the annual production of demographic indicators with statistically sound methods and (2) the international comparability of such indicators it is necessary to have the currently employed methodology evaluated by a demographic expert.
