The goal of this project is to develop a production technology for continuous wave, single mode distributed feedback quantum cascade lasers for operation in the first atmospheric window. A specific goal is the achievement of lasers at 2311cm-1 for the detection of CO2 with a fallback solution at 1111cm-1
